Tour Manager of the Month: Louann Mental
CONGRATS, Louann! You’re Tour Manager of the Month!
Louann is in her 4th year working for us as a tour manager. Prior to coming on board to Nowak Tours, Louann was a Kindergarten teacher in Cloverleaf Schools. She would love to meet Amelia Earhart!
FUN FACTS!
Q: What is the funniest thing that has happened to you while on one of our tours?
A: My funniest experience was funny to my group but terrifying to me!! There is a HUGE rat that resides in the bushes at the Jefferson Memorial. My group was gathered in front of me as I was talking with them. I saw the rat come out of the edge of the bushes and I screamed and ran away from the group!! Someday, I hope to write a children’s book about the rat that lives at the Jefferson Memorial.
(We can’t wait to read that book, Louann!)
Q: Do you have any advice for future Tour Managers?
A: Every trip is unique. Keep in mind that for some of our travelers this may be the only time they will ever have the chance to see our Nation’s Capital; be enthusiastic and highlight the Ohio connections wherever possible. Set a personal goal to learn at least one new thing on each trip.
Q: Any random thoughts or fun facts you’d like to share?
A: My fun fact to share is one of those Ohio connections. The Marine Corp Museum has a plaque near the front entrance honoring Al Lerner as a former Marine and extremely generous donor, making the museum a reality. Al Lerner also owned the Cleveland Browns and was fined for flying a Marine Corp flag at every home Brown’s game. He paid the fines and kept the flag flying because of his pride in being a Marine.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Louann!
