Tour Manager of the Week: Mike Dominak

CONGRATS, Mike! You’re Tour Manger of the week!

Mike is in his 7th year managing tours for us. Prior to coming on board, Mike was the Purchasing Manager at Cleveland Public Library for 35 years! He also was a purchaser for Bobbe Brooks & Burrows Stationers for 3 years each. His favorite destination to lead tours at is also DC – with Arlington Cemetery being is number one place to stop.

FUN FACTS!

Q: What is the funniest thing that has happened to you while on one of our tours?

A: When I fell into a reflecting pool at the FDR Memorial while giving an impassioned speech in front of FDR’s quote “I HATE WAR.” Great way to end my passionate speech but I had wet feet and pants the rest of the day since this happened to be our first stop in the morning.

Q: If you could meet any person from history, who would it be?

A: George and Martha Washington

Q: Any random thoughts or fun facts you would like to share?

A: Our history compared to the rest of the world is so short so we need to understand World History so we can learn from the past because history always repeats itself. It is one of the reasons Karen (wife & tour manager) and I have visited 55 countries. People are the same with their needs, desires and what they want out of life. No one wants war. When I travel to foreign countries I see what we see every time we go to a military Cemetery…..people mourning their lost relatives and friends just like we do. So travel is a mirror to the world and opens your eyes to understand other cultures better.

Thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Mike!
